  3. Around a hundred years ago, among Pennsylvania Dutch and Yiddish speakers in the USA, it was common to say "Gesundheit" when someone sneezed, and they were expect to reply with "Gesundheit ist besser als Krankheit". Somehow, we lost the habit of responding.
