I remember when furries were just people you'd see at cons who enjoyed a particular subcategory of cosutming, and then about 15 or so years ago, they were overrun by perverts and nutjobs who insisted that they are in fact the kind of animal that their costumes depicted, and they'd be snotty AF to anyone who didn't play along. Fuck that. You can wear what you want, but you don't get to force me to play pretend with you.
