It has never been anything but a wretched gang of power-hungry scum, ever since the days when Hoover was prancing around in his pinafores and trying to blackmail MLK into comitting suicide. Abolish it, and assign its legitimate functions to the Marshall's service, the Treasury department, and the border patrol.
