@razvanlex Not really, it's all about what they land on (and the angle at which they land). As people have pointed out, this phone landed on soft grass, possibly having been decelerated by bushes first. There are a few cases of people having survived falling from an aeroplane, because they were lucky in what they hit.

Maybe Mentour could do a 10 best video, or a tier list.

@razvanlex It might be an imperfect parallel, but it's not any kind of fallacy. Fallacies apply to logic; this is about empirical observation.

@Greatdome99 But I understand that cockpit height does mean something while landing.

The noise champion was perhaps the Republic attempt at a high-speed turbo-prop, the XF-84H Thunderscreech. According to Wikipedia, it was designed for Mach 0.9 but never got above Mach 0.7, but it had devastating effects on groundcrew. To make a fancy turbo-prop with low noise levels will be an amazing achievement.

A wonderful, heart-stirring machine, which made no economic sense, would have been hugely anti-social flying supersonic over land, and would have been finally killed off by climate change. Which is all a pity. As for modern supersonic airliners, they are only a possibility if billionaire techbros who despise the notion of the common good become even more powerful than they are now.

Perhaps, indeed, Boeing is going to wait for the development of an ambitious new software system, and a new engine design (revolutionary, as long as you don't call it an advanced turbo-prop). Comac is probably hoping this is the case.

I'm surprised to see that a serious company like Airbus is still, apparently, taking hydrogen seriously.

I was waiting for the A380 to figure; I suppose the only candidate for the other shoe would be the Tu-114 (there must be enough in museums, surely).

I understand that the 757 is loved by pilots. As a passenger, my favourite Boeing is the 767. Everybody adores the Queen of the Skies. As a fat passenger, I hate the 737. Guess which aeroplane is still being produced.
