The second-hand hardware is a great point. I'm discovering the joys of Linux on Apple laptops c. 2010-2015. Looks like Asahi will be ready to go at about the time Apple Silicon machines become really affordable. I'm deeply uninterested in games, but I guess they're great for pushing development.
