  1. Another problem, which the Brits are learning after Brexit, is that if you have tariffs, you have to have regulations and enforcement. I don't know what the delay on going from Mexico into the USA is at the moment, but it will get worse as every truck has to have its documentation checked, and a random sample will have to be rummaged to make sure the contents and the paperwork match. And it that delight happens several times in the manufacture of a single vehicle, and if it happens the other way if Mexico imposes retaliatory tariffs, Americans might rediscover the joys of cars made in Europe and Japan.
