  10.  @dutchboy9273  dude, if we’re gonna have this conversation, you need to stop being wrong about the very scenarios you’re setting up to make your point.  Okay, to set the stage for this, since your characterization of political thought is objectively incorrect, there are two axes on a political spectrum: economic and social alignment. Capitalism is right of center, collectivism is left of center. Libertarianism is below center, authoritarianism is above center. A something like a democratic socialist country would fall slightly left of center, near the middle. A fascist country would fall in the top-right quadrant. You’re confusing the Overton window (an incorrect interpretation of it) with the political compass. Now that we have that done, fascism is, again, by definition a capitalist ideology. In practice (countries like Mussolini’s Italy or Nazi Germany) were heavily privatized in different ways. Hitler’s government privatized (the term was actually created for the analysis of 1920s/30s/40s Germany) most industry. Mussolini’s government just took over the industry (he called it state capitalism). Now, before you make the mistake I know you’re going to here, that isn’t socialism. Socialism necessitates WORKERS control/own the means of production, not the government. That isn’t even a superficial difference. That’s pretty fundamental. So you still with me this far? Probably not but let’s get to the last thing. Populism. The thing you’re referring to, about fascism somehow spawning from socialism is the concept of populism. Fascists know (the ones that aren’t ENTIRELY inept), if they come out of the gates with what they want to do, they’ll lose. To get around that and gain support, they adopt populist rhetoric to frame their ideology as ‘of the people’. Trump did this with his whole ‘they’re coming after you, they just need to get through me first’ schtick among many others. Fascism doesn’t SPAWN from socialism but, because a lot of the things socialism would enable the working class to do are popular, fascists adopt the aesthetic in order to gain support. As for the rest of the stuff… man I could keep roasting you but I feel like I’m beating up a 12 year old. Just go ahead and stick to the argument. You’re already struggling enough there as it is.

It’s limiting. 1000 years ago, the equivalent of nationalism would be feudal tribalism, which is significantly smaller in scope. It doesn’t matter where you were born (or shouldn’t). Nationalism is identitarianism for dumb people.

  20. Fascism is capitalist so… that’s a pretty major difference you just missed, for starters. And also, saying ‘Marxism’ is like saying ‘vehicle’. Marxism isn’t really an ideology unto itself. There are a ton of different types and different ascriptions people make from it. Hell, Marxism informs some of our capitalist thought today (mostly because what we consider Marxism wasn’t really started with him).

  35. I just… how is it you people are SO good at Dunning Kruger? Georges Sorel was 100% a fascist. Just because he had a different aesthetic from someone like Hitler doesn’t mean he wasn’t. Hitler was influenced by things some would (incorrectly) consider Marxist ideals. That doesn’t make him not a fascist (a right wing ideology). I’m not even a fan of what is modernly considered ‘Marxism’ but if you’re going to be critical, you can’t be a f*cking moron at the same time.

  37.  @Historia.Magistra.Vitae.  that- neither of those things preclude the existence of markets. There were still places people went to barter for/buy goods with wages they earned from their jobs. That is a physical market. The existence of money and its usage to buy things/pay for services where the price of those things can vary depending on a multitude of factors is a broader description of a market. If you’re going to correct someone’s , the least you could do is say something sort of related to the thing you mean to correct them on.

My statement was calling the tokenization of a black person (and his identity) into the forefront to point out the inherent racism in using idpol in the way the OP originally did. Hence the whole thing about my 'racism' being used in a mocking manner. Now, you can keep going down this road if you'd like, but just know at this point I'm laughing at you for your inability to understand this incredibly simple rhetorical strategy.
