“Jimmy Swaggart, another popular televangelist, told his viewers that the conflict in South Africa was nothing less than a struggle between Christian civilization and the Antichrist. In his presidential campaign in 1988, televangelist Pat Robertson called advocates for sanctions the "allies of those who favor a one-party Marxist Government in South Africa." After his race ended, he became even more direct: "There needs to be some kind of protection for the minority which the white people represent now," he said in 1992. And in 1993, he said on his show, "I know we don’t like apartheid, but the blacks in South Africa, in Soweto, don’t have it all that bad." At a time when the Dutch Reformed Church, the traditional theological backer of apartheid, was reversing its position, the American religious right provided new religious cover — and they made the case to millions of Americans who tuned into their shows.”

@louise9973 Well, to be honest since I’m younger I haven’t had that much life experience as you had. I’m in my 30’s born in Somalia came to the West as a young child. At that time I spoke 5 languages but unfortunately now I’m down to 2 and half. Haha As the saying goes, if you don’t use it, you lose it. I’ve met and interacted with very interesting and diverse people growing up. I’ve studied political science and for the last 15 years I’ve been studying and researching theology, philosophy, and other ideologies while working immensely. I have plans to travel several unique places one particular place near my homeland called Socotra Island. I’m not sure if you’ve ever been there but it’s beautiful. That’s pretty much.
Also, the quote you posted reminded me a similar quote from over 1,400 by a Muslim Scholar….
“The world is 3 days: As for yesterday, it has vanished along with all that was in it. As for tomorrow, you may never see it. As for today, it is yours, so work on it.”
— Hasan Al-Basri
Again, you’re thinking of this life is not that much different from ours to be honest. Anyways, it was great talking with you and I wish you all the best in this life and the hereafter.
Assalaamu Alaykum (Peace Be With You)

@louise9973 Religion and spiritually are NOT different since the very essence of the concept of religion deals with the SOUL spiritually. You can’t have one without the other. I get that you’ve seen people in power misuse the true Message/Teachings (religion) for their own selfish acts but CORE principle doesn’t do such things. Most wars you see today is actually not about religion but rather it’s about resources and geopolitics where powerful governments controlled by greedy capitalist/multinational corporations want to steal the rich resources of underdeveloped countries. If there wasn’t any OIL in the Muslim countries would you’ve seen this fake “war on terror” that kills more innocent civilians than the terrorist agents do? Of course not.
Also, your view of spiritually literally aligns with that of Islam whether you know it or not. Everyone is commanded to seek knowledge and explore the world so that they become closer to the Creator of the heavens and earth. If you allow me to share it with you, here’s the true concept of FREE WILL in Islam that even Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had to follow…
1) Holy Quran 10:99
99 "And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed - all of them ENTIRELY. Then, [O Muhammad], would you compel the people in order that they become believers?"
2) Holy Quran 2:256
256 "There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing."
3) Holy Quran 3:20
20 "Allah says: “So if they dispute with you, say ‘I have submitted my whole self to Allah, and so have those who follow me.’ And say to the People of the Scripture and to the unlearned: ‘Do you also submit yourselves?’ If they do, then they are on right guidance. But if they turn away, your duty is only to CONVEY the Message. And in Allah’s sight are all of His servants.”
4) Holy Quran 5:99
99 "The Messenger's duty is but to proclaim the Message. But Allah knoweth all that you reveal and you conceal."
5) Holy Quran 42:48
48 "But if they turn away - then We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], over them as a guardian; you are only to CONVEY the Message. And indeed, when We let man taste mercy from us, he rejoices in it; but if evil afflicts him for what his hands have put forth, then indeed, man is ungrateful."
Holy Quran 49:13
13 “O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allāh is the most righteous1 of you. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing and Aware.”
This is the concept of ONE Human Race as other verses show how mankind were created in different languages and uniqueness as they were honored by God to rule our planet temporarily. I understand you grew up as a Catholic in the West, and I would hope if you take some time to research Islam without media or other biases just so we can have an understanding of what my faith states but not what those in power or few agents do. Thank you.

@simplesimon5739 “David Ben-Gurion and Yitzhak Ben Zvi, later becoming Israel's first Prime Minister and second President, respectively, suggested in a 1918 book written in Yiddish that the fellahin (Palestinians) are descended from ancient Jewish and Samaritan farmers, "Am ha'aretz" (People of the Land), who continued farming the land after the Jewish-Roman Wars and despite the ensuing persecution for their faith. While the wealthier, more educated, and more religious Jews departed and joined centers of religious freedom in the diaspora, many of those who remained converted their religions, first to Christianity, then to Islam.”

Israel’s Netanyahu brings his dirty laundry to Washington. Literally :
“Over the years, the Israeli leader has developed a reputation among the staff at the U.S. president’s guesthouse for bringing special cargo on his trips to Washington: bags and suitcases full of dirty laundry, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter.”
“The Netanyahus are the only ones who bring actual suitcases of dirty laundry for us to clean,” said one U.S. official, who like others spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the details of a foreign leader’s visits. “After multiple trips, it became clear this was intentional.”
