  1. I recently switched two of my machines over to Debian 12 (running MATE) and I am really enjoying the experience. The setup process was yards ahead of what it used to be, the distro feels fast, even on my aging ThinkPad T460s, and it feels like I'm doing a good thing for the community. I remember when you could buy copies of RedHat (before the Fedora split and all that) at Kmart back in the '90s; it's a shame to see the direction RedHat has chosen.
