  1. The thing about “politeness” is that it has its place, usually in the form of respect to another person during interaction. Polite only gets you so far. You can be “polite” for 30yrs and not move the needle. Some people take “polite” as “agreeable”. A polite admonishment is still admonishment. Some people take your “polite” demeanor as a sign of “weakness” when it’s absolutely not. So they keep pushing until the get a reaction they want to feel like they are in control of someone else. They are not.
