  1. I find this perspective somewhat irrational. We pursue knowledge to be closer to understanding God and His creation. Genetics, physics, mathematics, biology etc all in an attempt at understanding. Of answering “why?” Is that an added step? Is the pursuit of knowledge for any other reason more or less valid? We live in a world that has danger signs warning ppl that fire is hot. One of the issues that has been plaguing education since the beginning has been ego. “I’m right;you’re wrong” ergo “I’m better than you”. We all have biases to be sure Said biases will always be present but good teachers are cognizant of it and make to effort to minimize them. You can’t be a good teacher if you can’t be a good student. TL;DR-perspective is what Carl Sagan always lacked, at least from the belief in something bigger than ourselves, yet un-ironically calls us “The Pale Blue Dot” amongst unfathomable nothingness in the background
