Like that horse meme 😂 One of the saddest aspects of “knowledge” for me personally is how I get bored after learning it. I get reductive, to a point. But I love actually talking about it if I can find someone that understands underlying context, history, etc. it’s the ONLY way I enjoy learning. Anyone can read a dry-ass text book about the triangulation of stars, formation of snowflakes, particle density and convection in a vacuum, etc. But what makes it interesting? Applying it to your LIFE. You can’t know what you can’t know, and inference is a powerful tool. Very personal to the observer. Use it wisely;NOT cruelly FEEL ME?

Ever seen the “Cheshire Cat” smile in the moment of what you thought was supposed to be solemn lamentations? It’ll give you chills, and not the good kind. PTSD is a learning experience too.

  11. Tolerance, boredom, despair, etc. Ever cold-turkey opiates? It’s rough. On the plus side, once you walk through that hell, you can handle anything and quit any other bad habit. It also can make you curious about why you feel the way you do medically. So you research body chemistry. Overthinking isn’t always a bad thing lol Besides, they don’t help that much with “pain” to begin with. They alter your perception of pain and make you feel good so you stop caring about the pain. Totally different from say an analgesic or NSAID Also sex, weed, and massages help. Anyone that says different hasn’t been on them. Unfortunately, most of the time it is beyond anyone’s control what their body becomes physically addicted to, especially after a major medical procedure that requires months of intense rehabilitation

Do you not then take all this words and definitions and compile them into a coherent interpretation? Do you not build upon that? Letter, WORD, sentence, paragraph, chapter, etc? They still can’t reconcile it to themselves. How can anyone else do that for them? It can be a bit frustrating.

  87. The first 2yrs of college are basically refresher courses anyway. Like with politics, they spend all their time trying to get “elected”. Then they spend the first 2yrs basically being “briefed” on everything. (You can do that anywhere.) Then they spend the next two years trying to figure out what they want next (re-election) while running the country? Then they pick their major, do some basics on that and get their Bachelors Degree. So far, no “specific” college really wins out imho. Masters+ is where the specificity comes in to play. So places like Harvard are just a name and a wallet until that point. Specialized schools are supposed to be picky and they develop their own criteria for that. Still don’t see where IQ tests have any real relevance as the sole indicator of intelligence or merit. Rote memorization is boring lol you gotta feel that click in your head when you understand the problems and then work to “solve” them. How cool are abacuses?
