  1. I believe this is mainly caused because America is more politically divided than ever. I always laugh when some Americans call us Europeans 'socialists', 'dems' or 'commies', but at least we have a decent healthcare system which is still affordable.

I mean, it isn't just the inefficient & expensive healthcare system, but also basics like good & affordable education & housing for everyone, solid infrastructure, environmental protection and public services.
