@nrsrymj If his strategy failed, it's because the DNC sabotaged him. I get you wanted him to be more aggressive in attacking Biden (I'm guessing it's this), but in the end he chose to stick purely to the substance and refrain from personal attacks. Perhaps he just wanted to wait for the debate, which would clearly show Biden is the inferior candidate. Perhaps he wanted to lure Warren in for an endorsement (a fierce anti-Biden campaign would scare her off. Endorsing a Bernie that stays civil against Biden, she could still endorse him and afterwards grab a spot on Biden's team by stating she'll bring progressive support to his team). Perhaps he just didn't want the establishment to hate him too much, for the future. It was a viable strategy, he was clearly the better candidate and he showed this. Any informed person would see this.
Losing with that strategy is only possible with active subversion by the DNC. Being more aggressive would risk Bernie's message coming across the wrong way and would open him up to all other kinds of DNC/corporate sabotage narratives. I think he chose the best way to go about this by staying civil. He has the substance advantage, all he needed to do was get his message across, not necessarily attack Biden. Biden attacks himself enough.
What he truly needed was a debate. It was what he counted on, I bet. There is still a chance, but insofar his strategy is failing it's not due to the strategy itself but the DNC sabotage.
