Comments by "Regis" (@Timbo5000) on "EU vs US: Hypothetical war explored (part 2/2)" video.
@zachthehun3531 Some dudes who were angry about Northern Ireland being British caused major issues. I don't think you want to know what happens when a completely foreign force invades a part of Ireland.

@jonwilko6305 Remember when the Dutch installed a king in GB and you guys loved it so much you called it the Glorious Revolution? I remember

Day 4, Farmer picks up a gun, US retreats

@tacticalrobloxiansunited7441 Holy shit you actually believe US-UK culture is more similar than the UK and the rest of the continent they share tens of thousands of years history with and were willing to enter into a bloody political and economic UNION with. Holy shit I'm so done with this "sPeCiAl ReLaTiOnShIp" nonsense

What the actual hell is going on in your head... You are wildly overestimating the US here and assuming the EU basically does nothing but sit still and wait to be bombed. Also funny is that you use the "hodge podge" argument here to dismiss the EU but probably would say NATO would obliterate Russia in the same breath. This video is actually very beneficial to the US, considering it basically ignores that if attacked the EU would activate its war economy. It assumes the EU will produce absolutely zero tanks and airplanes and will fight for years with the current underpaid military.

@wheneggsdrop1701 You assume that the good is unique to Capitalism. It is not. There are systems that theoretically are economically as sound as Capitalism is, while preventing the huge disparity between rich and poor that Capitalism also has. The problem is, are we willing to risk Capitalism (which I would describe as an okay system because at least it works despite all the faults) to try one of those theoretically superior systems out?

No, the UK wouldn't support a foreign force invading Europe...

Why you think we spend so little on the military? We get free protection and the biggest trade surplus on earth, courtesy of the US.
3
Yeah, basically this. I always cringe when an "X American" thinks themselves an actual part of whatever country their ancestors were from while having no real connection to it at all.
3
@Joker-yw9hl The opposite actually. He completely ignored that in an all out war the EU would activate a war industry and produce tanks and planes in the thousands. It's very negative for the EU to assume it will fight out this war with its current military, which is quite underfunded

@PaxUnova That is ridiculous, the UK would never ally with the US under such conditions or aid them in invading Europe. Wow
2
If you think the UK would aid an invading force taking over Europe you're insane
2
@carl48uk There was an actual (succesful) invasion of England by the Dutch military.
2
@Joker-yw9hl A break up in trade would destroy not only the US and EU but the global economy. I don't know why you assume the US would just carry on, they'd be economically hurt and badly. EU too. A war like this is economic suicide for both sides
2
@carl48uk Yes, that's a succesful invasion.

Nah I don't think that'd happen, those Americans have lost connection with their ancestral lands and I don't see them defecting
