It's not that simple to take out a modern military accross the atlantic ocean just like that. First of all, the US can't starve the UK. The UK is connected to the continent by tunnel and if you want to cut it off, you have to involve the EU, which is end of exercise for the US as the EU combined actually has quite a bit more warships than the US. And btw, we're ignoring that the EU would be highly likely to support the UK anyway, so yeah (in or out doesn't even matter in that regard). Secondly, good luck getting the logistics together for a landing big enough to knock out Britain. I'm pretty sure the US doesn't have the equipment needed to get all necessary troops there at once. As a rule of thumb, you need a 3 to 1 advantage to even stand a chance against a defending force. The full US Marine Corps is the same size as the British Army, the full US Army is about three times the size of the British Army. That means the US would need to transport all of its active USMC personell, plus 67% of the active Army personell to even stand a strategic chance against an enemy that has all the advantages. Even the US wouldn't be able to do this alone

Agreed on the US history not being as invincible as some people think, but the UK has been invaded at least once within those thousand years. Technically, the Netherlands invaded London in 1688 and dethroned James II, after which a member of the Dutch royal family was installed as king of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. But this was done with support of English nobility that opposed James II. The throne was taken with a combination of politics and an invading force, not with a full-scale military campaign against Britain or something
