You are part of the European Economic Area. If we (EU) enter into a trade war with the US you follow. You are tied to the EU economically, just not politically or militarily. And even politically you're partly tied to EU economic policy.

+Grind State This is complete bullshit. The British contributed by far the most in the Battle of the Atlantic and taking down all axis navies around Europe. They guarded most of the boats, they commanded the entire operation and they took the most losses in terms of warships. Look at this list of allied warships hit by u-boats: https://uboat.net/allies/merchants/warships.html I counted 171 British Empire warships hit by u-boats and 38 US warships.... Also look at these lists (http://www.naval-history.net/WW2aBritishLosses10tables.htm), especially the "total axis losses and those inflicted by the Royal Navy" section and at the German u-boat table, where you see that the total German u-boat losses were 780. Of these, 275 were inflicted by the Royal Navy, 244 by the Royal Air Force (totalling 519 of 780 sunk by the British Empire) and 175 by the USA navy and air force combined. The US lacked the technology to effectively battle submarines while Britain was world leader in anti-submarine warfare at that time, constantly developing new tech to battle subs and constantly trying to find out where German wolf packs were. The percentage of German, Italian and Vichy French surface warships sunk are even better for the British. Almost all of them were sunk by the Royal Navy or Royal Air Force. Where the US did the most was in the Pacific against Japan, they by far got the most Japanese ships there.

+BULLY HUNTER_77 I was enjoying the argument as well, until someone entered with "oh teh evil USSR invading countries for personal gain and the heroic US always invading for the greater good" nonsense. Honestly some of the worst nonsense I've read on the internet for a while, trying to justify every single invasion of the US and painting everything the USSR did black. Yes, stupidity triggers me.

+edgarallanpoe Norway and other EEC countries follow EU economic policy since they are part of the single market. What the US does is up to them

+Lone Wolf I wholeheartedly agree. America is one of the worst "allies" we ever had. In EC president Tusk's words: "who needs enemies with friends like this?". What kind of ally fuels a civil war in a country bordering its best and largest ally (EU) as well as another NATO ally (Turkey)? The US screws us over even over small issues like removing a dictator from Syria. Surprise surprise, millions of refugees flooded us. The US doesn't give a damn about its allies, it cares only for the petrodollar. 30 october 2000: Iraq announces it will sell oil for euros instead of dollars 2001: "WMDs", turned out to be fake Some time before 2011: Libya plans to sell oil for new gold dinar currency instead of dollars 2011: "Gaddafi wants to commit genocide in Libya", turned out to be exaggerated/fake. May 2018: Iran sells oil for euros instead of dollars 2 days ago: US prepares sanctions to drive Iranian oil sales to zero (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/aug/22/us-ready-to-drive-iranian-oil-exports-to-zero-says-us-national-security-adviser) I guess the Iranian military is a bit too powerful for an invasion, but perhaps in time... The future lies in Eurasia if the EU ramps up trade with China and Russia and decreases its dependency on the US economy. But the US will do everything it can to prevent a Eurasian partnership because if the EU drops the petrodollar then that is its definitive death.

So you will try to destroy a country and the lives of the people within it just to stay number one (which you won't even without China)? You are truly pathetic. The rise of China, whatever you think about it, is inevitable. Unless you cause massive political unrest within China, that is (i.e. civil war). The only way to stop China is to destroy it. It's going to happen and you are to deal with it. Give up on your pathetic "we are number one" dream. Empires rise and fall, it's all a cycle that you can't stop.

+Craxus Alby And so will the US if the world stops trading, so will any large economy. What is your point? China isn't special in this respect. Such behaviour will likely cause a massive crisis, with everyone suffering in the end. It's not a realistic option

The Royal Navy murdered the German, Vichy French and Italian Navy all at once by itself while also contributing to taking the Japanese Navy down in the Pacific. What more needs to be said?

+Stephen Jenkins Fuck off. The USSR was supporting the reigning government in Afghanistan against insurgents. They weren't "conquering" it. This "evil USSR, hero US" mindset it retarded. Both sides did good and bad things you idiot.

+Lics Norgi Lol... You think pissing your allies off gives you MORE power over them? Are you even serious? The EU is trying to circumvent US sanctions on Iran (the EU has never stood against the US like this!), Tusk said about America in its current state: "with friends like this who needs enemies?", Juncker even spoke of dropping the petrodollar and the general consensus in Europe right now is that we need to become more independent from the USA... Trump is pushing the US away from Europe and I'm sure the same thing is in the minds of your other allies. He may be the golden messiah within the US for many people, but for the US' classic allies he is the antichrist. But he's your president and you shouldn't vote based on what your allies think, but in any case don't lie to yourself about inceasing US influence because it is dropping like a brick

+Merkel's Fourth Reich Yeah, they always will. I love Trump because he is destroying US influence worldwide and finally pushed the EU to be more independent. I hope he stays in power for another term and the EU breaks off the "special relationship" with the US. We can be allies, but right now we are just too dependent on them. I hope we can be allies with both Russia and the US and act like a diplomatic power that prevents issues. Like what the EU did in the Iran deal. I just want less US aggression in this world and less conflicts overall. Almost all conflicts today can be traced back to some US intervention a few years or decades ago...

+Metal Man and his Atheist Religion It is you that is delusional if you think you are any better than those bastards. America is at the moment the most cancerous country on the planet. Constantly invading/intervening abroad for personal gain while causing chaos. You are no better than the Soviets, two sides ofthe same coin. It's funny that you say it is Europeans that can't take responsibility when it is so obvious... To you, saying that neither the USSR nor the US were the "good guys" is equal to "sympathising with the communists". It's just pathetic, you're living in a fantasy world.
