Yup, US companies are spying on us all the same. They are right now even way more powerful and thus a greater threat than Chinese companies. We're better off developing everything for ourselves.

UK* They prevented Greece from falling behind the iron curtain after WW2 and also struck a deal with Stalin that involved leaving Greece out of the USSR's sphere of influence and in the British sphere of influence.

@fogshadow9112 Not really. We trade with them and they have a massive trade deficit. They protect us for free and secure oil for us. In exchange we ignore their bullshit interventions and sometimes even support them. The EU got a lot more from the US than the other way around, so I wouldn't call that being anyone's bitch

@fogshadow9112 The moment they do something like that is the moment we break off from the US. As I said we're not their bitches. Just look at how the relations have gone sour with Trump and his sanctions and Iran. If the US does something against our interest, it is over. We are with them as long as they give us money and free protection. They need the EU if they want to keep their hegemony, otherwise they're desperately short on allies. If they alienate us too much they're done for. They can't take on the world by themselves. Plus with all those countries moving away from the petrodollar, the EU moving away from it would leave virtually no big economies using the petrodollar and could collapse the entire currency. They need us more than we need them. We can find allies elsewhere, they can't apart from small players.

@fogshadow9112 Yes, and it starts to show more and more that the US wants a submissive EU. Sadly for them, the EU is becoming more and more independent and they'll have to do better to keep it on their side.

Joke's on you, WE HAVE NO OIL! Only Russia and to a much lesser degree Norway have oil.

The US did all of that AND killed millions with invasions and proxy wars. Worldwide, not just regional like China so far. China and the US are both bad bullshit

Can't even list the NATO countries right.... that is no detail

Soon China will be stealing our personal data too and attempt to lock countries in neo-colonial debt traps. Choosing between the US and China is like choosing between typhus and tuberculosis

@Rssika The USSR "liberating" Eastern Europe and staying there, exerting massive influence over them through the communist party and more, literally is imperialism. They also didn't want to leave Iran by the end of WW2 but Britain got them to.
1
@Rssika Imperialism: state policy, practice, or advocacy of extending power and dominion, especially by direct territorial acquisition or by gaining political and economic control of other areas. The USSR was by definition imperialist in what it did to Eastern Europe at the least. And even if you insist on including exploitation within the definition, being forcefully included in the planned economy of the USSR is by definition also exploitation of economic resources of that country.
