  1. +omnivorous65 Well said. It just hurts to see some of the veterans in this video state that "EU politicians force regulation on the UK", which is a complete falsehood. I get this feeling that the only cause for Brexit was complete lack of knowledge about what the EU even is. There are no EU politicians telling the member states what to do, it's the member states themselves that are in control of what the EU does. I would respect their opinions if only they were based on facts. I remember during the campaign that both sides flat out lied to the voters. Brexiters lied about the EU imposing rules (they can't, it's the member states themselves that vote on laws... including the UK, there's no such thing as EU politicians that can impose anything) and money that would be redirected back into Britain (NHS and more, lies of course). Remainers lied that leaving the EU would be a "disaster" and that the economy would collapse and whatnot. It was a campaign full of lies and waht do we get for it? Voters that made their decisions based on complete nonsense. Is that a democracy? The UK government cajoled themselves out of their spot in the EU by allowing such a rotten campaign so devoid of facts on either side.

  2. +Teh Weh Wrong. Colonialism wasn't just unfettered conquering of native populations. It was a rivalry between empires. There were other European empires competing for control over lands and fighting eachother over it. Each empire had its golden age in which it was on top, but in the end Britain unmistakenly won. And today, nobody can build an empire. Colonialism is a thing of the past. Even the US can't attempt to build an empire without getting the entire world after it, which would undoubtedly put the US to shame. Nobody can anymore, it's quite simply not accepted in this age.
