  1. Christianity coming to Europe is the greatest disease that plagues the western world. Look at Japan; secular, but still in contact with their ancient mythological beliefs and culture . The answer to the problem of the dead god (whose death is inevitable in any intelligent society), is a spiritual belief system with strong traditions. Those cultures can combine the spiritual with science and progress. Europe had a similar belief system in classical times. Christianity brutally murdered it and took its place, then inevitably died (as any montheistic religion eventually will, if humans are intelligent enough to see through its evident lies). Sprituality however, does not have that problem, because the pre-christian belief systems were rooted in celebrating nature itself and mythological archetypes. Nature is not a lie, nor are the Jungian archetypes that mythological gods represent. That is why Japan is secular, but still with a strong set of moral values, while the west is secular but struggling with a dead god.
