  1. No kidding... And think about the balls someone had, when they too left and illegally crossed a guarded border, knowing they will be shot at. I remember a story about a guy, who crossed all of Czechia using what we call "rogalo" without it's wings, only to fit it with wings and fly it from South Bohemia county to Austria... Imagine the tension, when you see Czechoslovak Migs approach to a firing position, and the relief of them turning back, because you made it to Austria... And this was technically at peace time!
