  1. I wonder... Are the criteria really necessary these days. I'm Czech. I, unlike most people around here, want Euro and see, how we're effectively becoming dual-currency economy with businesses being given under certain conditions the right to have their books in Euros as primary currency, pay their obligation to the state in Euros and there is proposal for partial salary payments in Euros on the books right now, even businesses are starting to trade with each other in Euros, primarily using Crowns for salaries and taxes... but we don't fit the criteria. So, I wonder, would it be practical to demand adherence to the criteria, if say 60% of domestic trade were to be denominated in Euro? What if an economy shifts currencies by itself?

  2.  @claudiu8426  You're already heavily tied to Germany and Austria trade wise. You have the port of Constanta, but that gives you only direct access to trading with Georgia and maybe Turkey, Russia is non tradeable currently. Meaning, if something were to happen in Turkey, Constanta and other your Black sea ports would become largely useless. Most of the world trades in either USD or Euros... the way I see it, you'd only benefit from adopting Euro... Not to mention, that temptations stemming from currency manipulations would become impossible to enact.

  4. Not sure, if I'd put any value to that referendum. Just look at Brexit. What arguments caused it? Well, today we know, they were mostly lies, so ask yourself two questions. 1) were arguments in your referendum valid and thruthful at the time? and 2) how long has it been since? Is it likely for the result to repeat itself?

  5. pardon me, but the video should have also included Morrocco, because they applied in the past, but were rejected on the grounds of not being a European country. If Canada were to be admitted, then that application would have to be revisited as well and therefore should have been within scope of this video.

  7. With the amount of disinformation in Czechia regarding Euro, I have a feeling that Romania will adopt it before us... Even though, we should have had Euro well over a decade ago! And one more thing. Perhaps Maastricht criteria should be mandatory for other EU members. Just saying, it's kind of hipocritical to demand someone adhere to rules, when they're applying and then have legacy members in worse conditions
