Romania is diverse in this sense... I have family in judet Alba. When visiting Alba Iulia, I dropped my passport wallet, which holds my emergency card. Nobody called to me. A guy ran after me all the way to the train (which made me miss it) to return me the wallet. A few days later, family and I were returning home and in the middle of the mountains, some kids approached us hand extended, begging and then tried to pry them selves into our car and we had to flee. From what my uncle told me, things are going in the right direction, but it's taking it's sweet time.

@munchkin0.o Nah, it's more like it would have been worthless. My dad, back during Caucescu's reign went to a local exchange office to sell some 50 West German Marks. He received several trillion (old) Lei and had to go and buy two shopping bags for half a million each, to carry all that currency home... So what would fit in a full wallet in terms of bills? A loaf of bread, maybe?
