Your "capitalist" employers in the West have decided, they don't want to pay wage anymore, while they got used to employees going above and beyond the contract, now considering such behavior on employees part as standard. As result, wages and productivity have been disjointed for the last twenty years and your normal productive jobs can't pay for rent+energies+food for one person anymore, let alone two, irrespective of effort an employee puts in.
