  1. Depends seriously on writing. If you have a character, who doesn't fit typical mold for a role, you have to explain it properly, not using SJW BS. Are there female characters ripe for lead in action movie? Yes, why? They have reasonable justifications for it! Couple of samples: Sabine Wren (SW Rebels): "I helped enslave my people!", a quote from an episode. That would make pretty good motivation to fight regardless of characters gender. Ashoka Tano (SW Clone Wars and Rebels): Raised from early age as a warrior. Again, work's regardless of gender. Ellen Ripley (Alien): Put in to a life or death situation, no powers. Again, work's for both genders. Are they few and far betwene, yes. That doesn't mean it can't work. A character needs something extra, if mess it is put through is to be watchable, but going overboard like current SJW and no proper background is not it. Until those writer blokes in Hollywood realize this, we won't get good female leads in action again. Hell, we might actually get poor male characters too!
