  1. Or... you could buy cheaper switches and play a bit with your data flow. Know, that certain servers will be accessed only from certain locations? Build each "star" as independant as possible. Let the traffic only go through the network deeper when accessing internet... And one last thing. You won't have ideal enviroment at all times, so some crazy, even daizychained links are a necesity at some point, especially if you have mission critical applications decentralised.
