  1. I've read somewhere, that manufacturing companies, that actually do updates, don't swap their old stuff out. They create separate VLAN for these old machines, punch very few, very specific holes in the firewall with both source and destination rules and let the old stuff work with the new. Imagine working on a Win10 in something like AutoCAD and there is a XP machine behind a firewall in a position of server for a bunch of CNC mills. Sometimes, things get nuts in IT :D
