This is cool. Forget just few long haul runs. This will be great for backbone connections accross long shots, saving us a signal repeater or extra distribution spot.

@CoreyThompson73 Yeah, those are some installs, I would have been somewhat skeptical about copper too. On the other hand, it's simply Ethernet. think about a huge factory producing something using CNC mills. In this situation, you've been spared an entire distribution point using this cable instead of fiber. But you're quite right, electrical isolation is the key with fiber in my opinion too. That is why I would never bury copper. Too afraid of lightning strikes.

@anthonypolsinelli1179 I would still prefer this. Fiber has it's problems too, most importantly, it's fragile, so, not the best for industrial environment. Plus, this is ethernet. Simpler to manage, than two different cable standards. I usually use fiber between buildings for lightning protection, but if I can get away with ethernet or direct attatch copper, I prefer to go with them.
