@chadbrad8100 Question is, how long can Ukraine maintain that? Two years is long already, as majority of wars had been shorter. And if the West cut's their support... they're screwed. Swedes did extremely well in Winter war, but they too eventually had to cede some land, all be it much less than otherwise would have. Mass is a quality of it's own and Russia, unfortunately, still has that advantage, not to mention how well Russians can suffer. How long it takes to break them to demand political change... I don't think, Ukrainians would have to walk all the way to Vladivostok, but I'm concerned, they wouldn't even reach Ural, behind which Putin can run, unfortunately.

I for one believe, that the West made a mistake, when it chose to believe, that it can win wars without getting dirty. It failed, to deliver some very clear messages, like "if you want that system, we can show you, how that looks like. Bosporus and Belgian straits are hereby placed under blockade, no ship will be permitted under any circumstances passage. Any ship attempting to cross will be sunk with all hands. Since you've rejected the international order, the law goes with it too. I'm sorry, what are you talking about famine and this being a genoicde? Just go and visit Buča!".

Let me play a Devil's advocate for a moment. But, shouldn't the airline bear the responsibility, not Russian air defense? Shooting down passenger planes is not strictly Russian thing, all be it, they're the most frequent ones to do it. In 1988, USS Vincennes shot down Iran Air 655 due to miss-identification of the plane with a hostile fighter. Russia is at war (though they refuse to admit to it), and therefore very trigger happy. Shouldn't the airlines, given they know, which airspace their planes are scheduled to fly over, actively evade risks and even cut routes, if threat of something like this is heightened, for instance, during an armed conflict?

It would not be RMB, it would be Euro, if new reserve currency were to be established. Why? Already, a number of nations ditched their currencies in favor of Euro and there are currencies, which are fixed directly to it (such as CFA Frank, which it self is used by a number of African nations).
What I think would cause this to happen, would be Ukrainian adoption of Euro. Ukraine was and likely will eventually again become breadbasket of Europe. A lot of African and Middleeastern nations were and will be dependent on them for food supply. With oil being still important for chemical sector and Europe being at forefront of this field (particularly Germany), it would make trading easier, not to mention, that there would be more nations to draw that currency from directly, because they use it as their home currency.
