Forget aggregate inflation numbers. until such time, as those responsible pay the rest and stop undermining European industry (*caugh* Germany caugh All the pro green initiatives), inflation will rise. If Germans did not abandon nuclear power in favor of unreliable energy sources, we wouldn't have been here. Why? Because they wouldn't need so much gas to cover for the pits in unreliable energy production... Because of green insanity, wages in actually productive sectors are down, because local costs are artificially higher and green friendly fields don't have the efficiency of the normal ones, hence can't offer more. This all results in lowering of real wages across the board. Lowering standards of living across Europe. When I changed jobs last year, I got a fairly significant bump in salary. As result of inflation, that bump is gone now and I'm now somewhere on the level of my previous salary in terms of real income. Some basic goods have risen in prices not by fractions of price, even significant ones. No some basic needs have more than doubled!
