I'm very much in this boat. I want my laptop to have replaceable battery, not just because of servicing! Hell, Thinkpad x40 series had both hardwired and removable battery and user could swap on the go his batteries! Imagine, your main is getting exhausted, there are no outlets around, so you just take a new battery out, no need to shut down and turn on your computer. Sadly, that was the only generation, which had this feature. New laptops these days? All are ultrabooks! No replaceable batteries even on business models!
