  2.  @Fatallica  Population density doesn't really matter that much. Fiber is expensive as F. That's why it's used only for long range interconnects until recently Think central hubs like Frankfurt, London, Hamburg or New York. And Romania has fiber to the premises already. Particularly the part of Romania I am from and have seen this is literally end of the tracks with nothing but wilderness beyond it. Your argument, while reasonable, doesn't apply here.
