Why the hell should the same on board computer handle radio and HUD display with your speedometer and maybe last spotted sign/GPS system as well as the cars power steering and electric gas? That's a) just asking for trouble from hackers and b) decreases owner's autonomy over their vehicle. Not even the police should have the ability to remotely shut down my car. Why should my car collect and transmit information about me, or itself. This is currently being forced down on manufacturers from Bruxelless. No. The manufacturers will always go for these anti consumer practices, unless they are forced by strictly and through brutal fines enforced law to not do them.
