I have to say, that facepalm at 5:57 is spot on. Not just it being possible to have that kind of change in temperature. I know of a place in Croatia, that has even bigger extreme! There is this highway tunel on Croatia's main highway, that connect's inland Croatia and cost. The tunel is about four kilometers long... and has temperature difference of about twenty degrees celsius! So not even is he wrong about how temperature changes affect metals, he would have been wrong, even if he was right, because there are places with even crazier jumps intemperature!
