  2. When I established my dad's account, he specifically wanted MC, because of situation in Germany at the time. Very few retailers took Visa. A year into his contract, the bank switched from MasterCard to Visa and three years of "where do I get food?" became his daily game. Things are better these days, fortunately, but dad nearly changed bank because of that.

  3.  @xhonkeri4066  Not really, I do find, on occasion, places, that don't accept Visa... Hell, I've heard, that there are even stores in Netherlands, which are so cheap, they don't accept anything else but Maestro on the count of the fees! Really, having both in your wallet is the way to go. I for instance, intend to have Platinum Visa debit and MC World Elite credit cards in mine, when able (I travel a lot)
