Yeah... virtually no enviromental impact... Well, over the lifetime of such powerplant, more CO2 is produced per total ammount of Wh produced, when compared with an oil plant. This is because they produce comparably way too little power and need highly refined materials to be somewhat effective. Plus, big birds are not exactly freinds of these... you're not a friend of the thing that threatens your survival... And finally, since wind is not under human control, these powerplants can overload the network, or not provide enough power to the grid at any given moment. Solar has the same problems. No, you wan't relatively clean power source? Go with nuclear and add a couple of gas powerplants, to top up the network as needed. There will never be truely carbon free energy. Our engeneering simply isn't there and there is no cheating in laws of physics.
