  1. Red states should just pass their own individual, constitutional amendments to have state- and county-wide electoral colleges instead of direct votes, thereby ceding further political power to their predominantly conservative, rural populations. The best we can hope for is that they shore up their own local influence...and that's assuming that the Republicans and Democrats are somehow NOT the different sides of the same elitist coin and that empowering one would make a genuine difference.
