Dudes that chastise him for "being alone" need to work on being autonomous and largely self-fulfilled (still have friends, family, and community if they're worthy of your devotion; no man is an island). That impulse is also Bay'Tuh, because you're acting in the female frame. Determining your worth by your capacity to get a girl makes her the prize and gives her the power, because she becomes the man-maker. That's not reality and its not an acceptable way to live if you're a self-respect man.

  2. Don't take women out to eat as a first date, she's got to earn that. Personally? For first dates I do walks in the park, swims in the rec center pool (that one's great because it generally strips away the makeup and clothing layers to show me what I'm dealing with whiling giving me an excuse to show off), or hikes (which test their hardiness and fitness). Ultimately though, never take out a girl to something unless it is something you're already doing for yourself on the regular. Most men don't dine out alone.
