Well... If it WAS her appartment, that would be VERY different. The thing is, it WASN'T. I DO, believe it WAS an honest mistake... HOWEVER, as the spouse of an officer (of almost 25 years, who's NEVER used his weapon- she's been in the force for like 2 years), I feel like she could've backed out of her apartment. It wasn't like she was at a house or something like that. She was in an apartment complex. I just think this was a really different situation. I think she really was running on autopilot and without thinking, she grabbed her patrol weapon, forgetting she wasn't working and shot. She should've backed out of the appartment...

@RickyG225 You OBVIOUSLY read parts on my comment about not all of it. I wouldn't have pulled the trigger if that had happened to me. I would have left "my apartment." Secondly, if it had happened and I was in my bathroom or bedroom and say somebody was in a different bedroom (which doesn't matter, because I own a home, so this apartment scenario is moot). I don't agree with what this gal did. I was trying to give an opinion of why she did what she did. Chill!

@jaylensmith6060 Nope, I'm not. Nothing about her supposedly complaining about his noise was said in court (besides the young gentleman talking about him singing). Everything else you're saying is not true nor on record. I like to go with the facts that are presented in court, not with what people are making up in their heads.

@Bestar Heavenly Uhmmm.... Hello, did you not hear me say that my Sweetie is an officer and has been for almost 25 years??? And hasn't ever shot anybody??? When I was talking about being on autopilot, I was talking about how she was likely scared that she was by herself. With the whole autopilot phrase, I should've explained myself more. I was only talking about how the part where she "DREW" her service weapon. I want meaning that firing was an autopilot response. Shooting a weapon is never an autopilot response, I just assumed people would understand what I meant. I guess not... That being said, I NEVER said it was right that she shot, and in fact, I said she should've retreated.

Good luck with getting all officers to live together. That's just RIDICULOUS! They deserve to have a life and a home with the career they give their life too.

@vh9network You haven't read all my comments... Please keep reading. I've always said she was guilty myself. Just trying to explain a REALLY REALLY bad chain of events that ended in an awful and TRAUMATIC experience for both Botham's family and Amber's family. I watched the entire case, hours upon hours of testimony, and this was not a situation of race, nor was it police brutality. It was one where a young woman thought she was going into her apartment and made a horrific mistake. She's paying for it now. Enough said.
