Yes, we need longer prison sentences for abuse against children, whether physical or SA. Too many are getting single digit sentences, and that's completely uncalled for.

I would think that given how the Defense Attorney has acted during this trial, that the Jury is fully aware of what she's doing.

PS- I've never seen an attorney use herself so much for defense. I truly believe that this attorney bit off more than she could chew with this case and doing it by herself. People need to remember that this attorney also represented "CREEP" Larry Nassar, so she SHOULD know how to properly defend and conduct herself in court/during a HUUUUGE trial.

If you're a parent and AREN'T checking your child's social media, you ARE being negligent. People seem to forget nowadays that we are SUPPOSED to PARENT our children not be their best friend. There is so much scariness on social media nowadays, that I don't understand how MANY parents don't check their children's phones, tablets, computers, etc. This is a prime example of being a selfish parent and NOT doing your job as a mother/father. I truly think that this trial should make A LOT of parents think twice about if they are doing ALL THEY SHOULD as a parent. Unfortunately for Mrs Crumbley, I do think she was negligent and didn't do what she should've, as a parent, to help prevent this from happening.

The fact that she said that she DOESN'T check her children's electronics, shows her own lack of care & concern for her own children. Any GOOD parent checks their child's phones, tablets, etc. ESPECIALLY, if they have full access to Google, YouTube, etc.

Unfortunately, I think that some parents still think that "depression" or "anxiety" are some kind of a horrible label and don't want that diagnosis for their child. Instead, they should be glad that there is actual help nowadays with those diagnoses, and WANT to help their child(ren) conquer that and not go through life fighting it alone. This is proof that turning a blind-eye to something like depression can have severe consequences. 😢

@lanielouwraps I'm glad your children turned out well. Can I ask how old they are? That matters, because nowadays things are very different with the internet and what's on it, along with cell phones and what they can do (cameras, internet access, etc). Lastly, there is always a way for a parent to "PARENT" their child in a respectful/kind way. It's our job to protect them and sometimes that means from themselves. They are still children and might not even realize that they are going down a road that "isn't good" and could affect them later. Children don't usually have that knowledge yet. A prime example of that, is us knowing that what we put on the internet is likely there forever, where a child usually thinks that deleting something means it's gone.

@acc4465 I am personally torn with this trial myself, and I am glad I'm not on that jury. I can see both sides for sure, including your point.

But wait, didn't Jennifer Crumbley HIRE this defense attorney? I thought she paid for her, not tax payers? Maybe I missed a hearing where that changed and she continued as a court appointed defense attorney.
