As long as someone is filing taxes, they will still qualify. It's People who aren't filing at all who won't be getting a check. A 1099 is still filing.

@janiceconnolly8740 I wasn't talking about unemployment benefits in my first comment, I was talking about the Government Aid. That's why I said receive "a check," instead of "unemployment." As long as you file your taxes, and you're within the income guidelines, you'll receive a check. It's the people who DON'T file taxes, who won't be getting an assistant check!

@scootypuffjr. Things don't always work like that. My ex ended up being extremely abusive. Please be cautious about what you say, because not all women leave for the same reason. Some leave because it's a matter of actual safety for themselves and their child (my situation, a very small child). I still have a DVPO now, even 6 years later. On top of that, I got my CWP and my friend-The S &W 9MM, an 8 camera surveillance system and separate ADT home monitoring system. I hate the stigma that comes with being a "single Mom," but oh well. I don't receive help from him, because I don't need it, and provide my daughter with a very great life

@Whoa Guy I think you'd be very surprised at how many single Moms are ACTUALLY very hard working people and DON'T (or haven't EVER) used any governmental help. If you have any questions about my personal situation, I'm more than happy to share, just to give you a different perspective. Thank you 💖

@scootypuffjr. Also, you make this sound like I spent a lifetime with the person. He was a chapter in my life. I'm not some young adult who's life is ruined because of this... Prior to him, I had been with 3 guys (separately obviously), for 3 and a half years, 2 years and almost 9 years. Then I met the wolf in sheep's clothing. And now I'm with the Love of my life (and have been for over 4 years). You're making huge Assumptions about people, when NOT everybody is like that. I was actually the breadwinner when I was with him as well, and with my ex before him, and so it was a VERY VERY VERY different situation than most. I work very hard and make a lot of money, so the last thing I need is a Man for financial purposes.
