@MrHammerkop
Yes!
This case was odd, because of the defendants demeanor. But honestly, I think he's the kind who's nasty behind closed doors. I really hate to sound cruel that way, but after going through a DV situation, and now watching people (over the past 10 years), it's not that hard to tell who's hiding something... Victim or Perp. There are just certain signs with both of them. I know it sounds crazy, but after you go through something like I did, you just notice things differently, than before (kind of like a sixth sense I guess).
Not sure if you noticed how the fiance talked on the stand, and then how she talked in the interrogation room... Way different. Even at his second trial when she was NOT engaged to him anymore, she didn't sound as weak as she did in the first hearing.
He's the type of person who acts all "chummy and kind" in person, but has a mean streak... I think.
I could be wrong, but I don't think so with this one.

@amyc394
Exactly!
I actually had to devise a plan to get my daughter and I out safely. Even after going to court to get DVPO's that same day, the police had us wait in the basement of the courthouse, where the sheriff's department was, until he was served. Then, after all that, I stayed with my Mother, because she had a really good alarm system, until I had both an 8 camera surveillance system set up (for my home and property) and a seperate ADT home Monitoring system for the doors, windows along with motion detectors. Then, about 2 years later, I also decided to purchase a firearm and get my CWP (Concealed weapons permit).
Until somebody goes through it, they'll NEVER understand. I used to be that person who would say, "if somebody ever abused me, I would leave in a heartbeat." Well... When it happened, it was VERY VERY different...
