I think she likely DID think that afterwards and that's why I said she went through a second "fight or flight," panicked and buried him, because she didn't think people would believe her. I know after going through severe abuse, that because you DON'T tell people what's going on (because you're EXTREMELY embarrassed,) so when you need help, want out, etc., it's very difficult to finally tell people what was ACTUALLY going on. Not to mention when you do finally get out, and your ex is EXTREMELY Narcissistic and likely a Sociopath as well (according to my daughter's therapist), they are VERY good at acting like they are the BEST person, friend, father, employer, etc., and acting like it was either made up, or the victim is actually the Perp (all things my ex did, plus more).
I never could've imagined what I had to go through in court, with custody. Thank God I didn't marry him, or put him on my house, or anything financially, but it was pure Hell... In fact, we ended up in Superior Court (above family court), having a trial for 8 days, and having a judge make the decisions. Picture having your ABUSIVE Ex representing himself, so when you're on the stand, your ABUSIVE Ex is the one questioning you... It was horrible!
So... in the end, I really think that she panicked after it happened, and then went through a second "fight or flight," thinking...
"Oh my God!!!"
"Nobody's going to believe me!!!" "What do I do???"
"I CAN'T CALL THE COPS"
"F******CK!!!!"
And then she did what she thought she had to do...
It's not easy for many people to understand, but I do believe that she feared for her life and Psychologically snapped.
The majority of people aren't good actresses, so that's why I don't think she was "faking" it on the stand. I've seen a lot of terrible "acting" on the news, with interviews of parents, boyfriends, spouses, etc., who ended up being the Perp's and I don't think this woman was the abuser, nor do I think she did this because she WASN'T terrified.
Was it OVERKILL ???
YES...
but, when somebody snaps after being abused for a long time, they literally have a psycholigical break and aren't thinking about things when they happen. They just Go and Go and Go, until their brain finally clicks and says... "It's over... You're safe... They AREN'T going to hurt you again."
I hope that helps a bit more.
