Yes, and I even learned about this when I went to therapy 25 years AFTER I was assaulted in 2012. My therapist had to check the statutes to see if she needed to report it.

@Findpepperbridge But unfortunately, SA affects its victims, for life... just like being falsely accused usually affects somebody FOR LIFE.

I can see this if the victim is an adult, but when it comes to childhood SA, it can take years, if not decades, for the victim to finally talk about this. I know about this from personal experience, but also knew when I came forward that I couldn't legally do anything to my abuser. I just knew that I needed therapy and to finally move past what had happened when I was 4/5-9 years old. I think with an adult, it's very different, and agree with you.

@nubz8379 They should also get life or be under the jail

@SuzanneGoins1981 As a survivor myself, it's really tough to "believe all women" when so many have recently come forward with false allegations. They do it with custody cases, with ex's they are upset with, etc. They don't realize that it ACTUALLY affects REAL VICTIMS, and that's not okay.

@char_bsb Are you talking about my own story? Because if you are, I'm talking about how I was assaulted from 4/5 until 9 and didn't talk about it until I was 31 years old, which was 25 years later (yes, in 2012). Hopefully that helps!

@MissMeggypoo Agreed! Too many women are lying about SA and DV, and it's not okay. It takes away from actual victims, like myself, and then makes it tougher for us. I firmly believe that when ANYBODY lies about abuse, men or women, they should end up in prison...

@MissMeggypoo Until they start locking up the ones making false claims, it won't stop!
