  16.  @dustind.291  Well... We actually think very similarly with both of those things. I actually DIDN'T think I would ever own a gun. But after going through a very HORRIFIC DV situation that produced a child in the end, I ended up getting my Concealed carry permit. Eventhough I have a DVPO, that I've had for nearly 6 years (and that the judge recently renewed for 5 years), I'm not going to just rely on a piece of paper for protection. I also installed an 8 camera surveillance system and seperate ADT home Monitoring system for my home. Some say it's too much, but until they go through what I have, they honestly shouldn't talk. And finally, in regards to Abortion, I understand the need and even "desire" for people to want it to stay legal, but I think that it DEFINITELY shouldn't go to term, like it does in some places. We already have protections for both mother and child when it comes to their physical health (which so many people don't know about), and so people shouldn't to talk about that. If the mother's physical health is in danger, they are already protected, and if there are abnormalities with the child, they already have that covered as well. In regards to rape, I know from unfortunately going through this more than once, that after it happens, you are encouraged to take the plan B and then monitor for if you become pregnant (along with HIV, which honestly scared me more at the time). Fortunately when I was raped in highschool and in college (where I was actually drugged), I didn't ended up pregnant. I can understand though, for somebody to not want to have to go through that. But... Even in those instances, it equates to a very very small percentage of Abortions. And, they are usually done early (usually within 8/9 weeks because they are constantly checking). I personally don't think that they should go on beyond 12 weeks. If you're "doing the deed," and acting like an adult, you need to be prepared to live your life like an adult. I chose 12 weeks, because they used to think that the baby/fetus would start feeling pain around 15 weeks, but now there seems to be a gray area with that. If we are going to continue with them, they shouldn't be allowed for "birth control" purposes, after that window. Having been pregnant 3 times, losing my first two to miscarriage (with my ex husband, not the douchebag), I know what a baby looks like at 10 weeks and 13 weeks and it's definitely a baby. Honestly, with my last pregnancy, I assumed I was going to miscarry, because the chance was so high according to the Doctors (67%), so... I just left things up to nature and the Big Man Upstairs. It was a truly horrible pregnancy, being sick from Hyperemesis Gravidarum until 34 weeks and then bouts of early labor after that. Sorry for such a long comment, but I feel it's important to explain things and why I feel the way I do. There is something else, but it's extremely personal and not something I should share on here, with all the potential Trolls- no, it's not religion, eventhough I am Catholic. So... In the end, I personally despise Abortion, but I can also understand a rape victim wanting/needing to have one. I just don't think they should be done after a certain period of time. There's no reason (except for medical ones), that a baby should be aborted past a certain period. Again, sorry for such a long comment.
