If this was truly about the children, there were sooooo many different options that could've been taken. If Siever's hadn't actually orchestrated this, how would Wright have known about these HUGE life insurance policies? Not only that, but he also knew the code to get into the garage... The same EXACT code Siever's then gave to his wife's co-worker.
