At the drive-in restaurant I worked for 11 cents/hr. in 1954--57 , Tennessee Ernie had a hit song " I LOADED 16 Ton of no.9 Coal and The STRAWBOSS SAID WELL BLESS YOUR SOUL ! The Song was ' 16 tons " and it held its own very well with Elvis' " Don't Be Cruel " ! I still sing to myself or whistle 16 tons it was sorta drilled into me I had no choice, but to hear it over and over ! I was born in the foothill of Appalachia . I was 13yrs. old and this is where my health and social life was shot to hell and my mind was already messed up because 2 people were allowed to marry and bring 7 almost 8 kids into a world that the parents didn't know how to cope with enough to just raise themselves ! Things never are what u see thru wishful eyes , so work a little to get back home to God and be happy about that .
