The betrayal the Duke of Windsor had to both his family and the people that once loved him is atrocious. The funny thing is for generations the British resented Wallis for “taking away their king,” only to now find out the facts of how Wallis ended up saving the British, even Europe in this case, from a reckless king who likely would have abused his authority to everyone’s detriment and the world’s common language would have been German for the wrong reasons. And even more revealing was that at the end the Duke and Duchess of Windsor both suffered by playing with power, Edward became a laughing joke and Wallis resented Edward to be confined to him when she saw him as a whiny petulant manchild. Both are too lucky these details came way after both passed away cause their later years would not be spent wallowing for themselves, but looking over their shoulders of very resentful people of not just the British to take aim at them for aligning themselves with Nazi power. It’s scenes like this that made me like and admire the Crown, and Tommy Lascelles always knew how intensify a conversation and grab the attention of any scene he is in.

@avian8338 Yet the show doesn't establish this, while working with real people.
