Serves Orlando right thinking he could escape justice by hoping to another country. So glad that Nicaragua showed so much integrity to a crime that happened outside their country, and were willing to give the American detectives a chance to be a part of the trial. On top of that, the judge seemed so respectful to Haley’s friends and family, it was touching. The irony that it seems the Nicaraguan court delivered a stern sentence than if Orlando stayed in the US. And I think it would be fitting to bring in the concept of discussing femicide as an option of a homicide in the American court of law.
