Just caught at the last part of the clip I think you missed is the part where the Dalai Lama was encouraging to have the boy suck his tongue (never thought I’d EVER structure a sentence like that in my life), as the Dalai Lama brings in himself towards the boy he puts his hand on the boy’s left arm. The hand acts as both a soothing encouragement as well as a way to bind the kid to stay in the spot the Dalai Lama wants him, to suck his tongue.
